Feast of Trumpets
On the first day of the seventh month you are to have a day of rest, a sacred assembly commemorated with trumpet blasts. -- Leviticus 23:24
The Fall Holy Days begin on Rosh Hashanah or the Feast of Trumpets. Rosh Hashanah is heralded with the sounding of the shofar, or trumpet; it is followed by 10 days of awe in preparation for Yom Kippur.
